INTRODUCING
Okehampton Interchange
Okehampton Interchange is the new purpose-built station as an exciting next step for the Dartmoor Line.
The station opened on Saturday 1st August 2026 thanks to £18 million investment made possible through £13.5m Government funding from the Department for Transport secured by West Devon Borough Council, with match funding from Devon County Council and West Devon Borough Council.
The new station complements the existing Okehampton station, which remains open.
The project will help more people travel sustainably. The station has cycle parking and electric car charging points. Walking & cycling routes have been enhanced. The 118 bus will call at the station, starting 30th August 2026.
The new station will bring huge benefits to West Devon's economy, in particular to Okehampton and its surrounding areas: connecting people with jobs, education and other opportunities.
The new station will serve the growing east side of the town, reduce traffic through the town centre and on Station Road and relieve pressure on the existing station's car park.
Just 2 minutes from the A30, the new station will give North Cornwall and West Devon residents easier access by train to Exeter and beyond.
