Sneak peek at this week’s work at Okehampton Interchange

This week sees the first major stage in building the new Okehampton Interchange station. The primary goal is to install and complete the track drainage system and reposition the track so it’s suitable for the proposed platform.
Here’s a bird’s eye view of the work:

The £15 million station is the newest addition to the Dartmoor Line and will connect West Devon, Torridge and North Cornwall with Exeter and beyond. The scheme is being funded by the Department for Transport (DfT) with contributions from Devon County Council and West Devon Borough Council.
See the design for the finished station on our Okehampton Interchange page.
During the current closure of the line (8-14 March), buses will replace trains. Find out more on the GWR website.
