Trains are running again on the Dartmoor Line after Network Rail successfully completed engineering work.On the edge of Okehampton, the first major stage of work took place to build the new Okehampton Interchange station. 300 metres of the single-line track was moved 90cm north to allow a new platform to be built alongside it. This week sees the first major stage in building the new Okehampton Interchange station. The primary goal is to install and complete the track drainage system and reposition the track so it’s suitable for the proposed platform. Here’s a bird’s eye view of the work: The £15 million station is the newest addition to the Dartmoor Line and will connect West Devon, Torridge and North Cornwall with Exeter and beyond. Network Rail has produced a video guide (watch below) to explain the work that will be happening during the upcoming closure of the Dartmoor Line (8-14 March).
