Restoring your Railway: Passengers to see Dartmoor Line services doubled

From this Sunday (15 May), services on the popular Dartmoor Line will be doubled – giving passengers travelling between Exeter and Okehampton the option to travel more frequently with hourly trains. Dartmoor Line set for upgrade in preparation for start of hourly services

Upgrade work 25 April to 9 May to enable hourly service

Track bed and drainage improvements on the Dartmoor Line will affect train services between Exeter and Okehampton from Monday 25 April to Monday 9 May. Replacement buses from 19th to 27th February to enable bridge repair

Replacement bus services will be in place on both the Dartmoor Line (Crediton-Okehampton) and Tarka Line (Crediton-Barnstaple) during February half-term to allow Network Rail to complete bridge repair work near Penstone. More than 10,000 people have travelled on the Dartmoor Line in the first two weeks since its reopening. The line reopened for regular year-round, all-week passenger services on Saturday 20 November and demand for the trains linking Okehampton and Exeter has continued to remain high.
