Mobile catering at Okehampton station gives a taste of things to come
Starting on Monday (15th August) passengers can enjoy a mobile catering service at Okehampton station offering barista coffee, homemade pasties, sausage rolls, sandwiches, homemade cakes and more. Available at the front of the station from early morning until 5pm, it will be run by Leanne Knight and her team from the Amazing Brownie Bakers. Rail taster trip – to the beach!
South Tawton Primary School had a fantastic time taking the Dartmoor Line today. They travelled from Okehampton to Exeter and then onward on the Avocet Line to Exmouth on a rail taster trip combined with end-of-term day out. They started their day with a talk from the Devon & Cornwall Rail Partnership’s Rebecca Catterall (pictured above, left) at Okehampton station, and on board played eye spy out the window. The Dartmoor Line partners were delighted on Friday to have won the Major Project category at the Railway Innovation Awards 2022. Representatives from Network Rail, Great Western Railway and the Devon & Cornwall Rail Partnership were presented with the award by Philip Sherratt, editor of Modern Railways magazine. Dartmoor Line shortlisted for national Railway Innovation Award
The Dartmoor Line has been shortlisted for a national Railway Innovation Award following the restoration of regular passenger services on the line after nearly 50 years. Thanks to amazing partnership working, the line between Exeter, Crediton and Okehampton now has an hourly service, seven days a week, all year round. Restoring your Railway: Passengers to see Dartmoor Line services doubled
From this Sunday (15 May), services on the popular Dartmoor Line will be doubled – giving passengers travelling between Exeter and Okehampton the option to travel more frequently with hourly trains. There’s a wide range of kit being used to upgrade the Dartmoor Line ready for its upcoming hourly train service.
